The Bexar Street Redevelopment Investment Center is comprised of a public side that hosts community meetings, lectures, art exhibits, and other gatherings, a police substation for 25 officers, and offices for the City Prosecutor, code enforcement, and fire inspector. This police substation and community building are part of a City initiative to revitalize a blighted Dallas neighborhood. The project was designed to meet LEED Gold certification standards, and also had to comply with the City of Dallas’ aggressive stormwater guidelines.
