Darrell as the founding principal brings nearly 50 years of experience in planning and design. He holds degrees from Harvard University Graduate School of Design and the University of Pennsylvania in architecture. His background includes strategic project development, master planning, design, management, and documentation of architectural projects. Before forming the Fitzgerald Collaborative, Darrell spent 12 years as a Principal with Gensler in Atlanta and Houston, and 20 years as Vice President and Managing Principal with the office of John S. Chase, FAIA, in Dallas and Houston, Texas.

Darrell is dedicated to professional and community activities on a local and national level. He served on the Board of Directors for 100 Black Men of America, and was the President/Chairman of the 100 Black Men of Atlanta.
