The renovation of the Richard B. Russell Federal Building included a strategic entry sequence and public areas designed to create a welcoming atmosphere, while bringing the building up to current security standards. The project scope included expansion of the Magistrate Court facilities, the U.S. Marshal Service offices, and upgrades and enhancements of some U.S. District Courtrooms. The projects also included exterior window rehabilitation, complete renovations of public restrooms and elevator lobbies, re-design and complete renovation of the plaza, including new building entry. existing HVAC systems., fire alarm systems and controls were upgraded or replaced, structural improvements were made, and state-of-the-art security was added.
