ENTOMOLOGY FACILITY
As interest in Florida A&M University’s entomology program flourished, the university needed a building to accommodate its continued growth. In a joint venture, we helped design the Entomology Building, a responsive, collaborative, and creative learning environment for scientists, students, and agricultural industry leaders.
With the creation of a multi-functional academic research center as a top priority for the school, we focused on creating a space that could reach the fundamental goals of advancing knowledge, resolving complex issues, and empowering citizens and communities, while providing a student-centered environment.
Addressing the critical needs for entomological teaching, research, and education, this new 70,000 square foot facility will include state-of-the-art laboratories, greenhouses, smart classrooms, conference rooms, private offices, a 200-seat auditorium, and a working museum to house one of the world’s largest mayfly research collections and one of the Southeast’s largest aquatic insect collections.
The development of the Entomology Building is currently pending grant funding from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
