This year’s event raised funds for TMH's ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) program and the purchase of two ECMO machines.

 

If you don't know what ECMO does, TMH tells us that "ECMO is an advanced level of life support that helps people whose lungs or heart are not working properly. During ECMO treatment, blood is pumped out of the body into a machine that removes carbon dioxide and adds oxygen. The oxygenated blood is then pumped back into the body. This treatment can be used to provide support for the heart and lungs while they heal from infection or trauma, or it can fully bypass heart and lung function if needed. For many patients who need it, ECMO is their last chance at survival."

 

While we’ve been able to support TMH through close collaboration on projects, the Golden Gala was once again a remarkable experience.
